Respawn drops Apex Legends onto players today and the new Lunar Year means another sale on Steam.

Surely another battle royale title is what everyone wanted

If you’re fans of Respawn Entertainment, makers of Titantfall 1 & 2, you’ll be happy to know that they dropped a new title that is available today. The slightly dissapointing news is that it is not Titanfall 3 but set in the same universe so maybe that helps.

Apex Legends is a battle royale title with a slight twist that everyone is picking Legends to play as. Think of them as heroes from Overwatch as they all have different perks and abilities. As it is set in the Titantfall universe (apparently 30 years after the second title) you can expect to see plenty of familiar themes and styles. The player count is current 60 with 20 teams of 3 so choose your two best buddies and go take on the best of the Frontier. On the downside though, there are no Titans to be seen. This could explain why they call the game Apex Legends rather than Titanfall…fill in the blank.

That all being said, Apex Legends is free-to-play on the Xbox One, PS4, and PC. How will fans react to a Titanfall game set in the Titanfall universe without…titans. For those wondering where Titanfall 3 is at, Eurogamer has a report that at a press event Respawn said that they are NOT working on Titanfall 3.

A new year, new sale

With the celebration of the new Lunar Year, it is appropriate for Steam to continue tradition and have another big game sale. Discounts end in a week on February 11th with several titles up for sale such as Warriors Orochi 4, Dark Souls III, and Nioh to name a few.
