The next Pokemon games have been revealed, Saints Row The Third coming to the Switch in May, Johnny Cage revealed for Mortal Kombat 11, year one post release content detailed for The Division 2, PlayStation Plus and Games With Gold lineups for March, and The Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy is coming to the West on April 9th.

Do Pokemon need weapons?

The 8th generation game for Pokemon has been revealed during this morning’s brief Nintendo Direct. Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield are scheduled to launch later this year in 2019. This new entry takes place in the Galar region which has a vertical feel to the map. Gyms are back and you’ll need to get your Pokemon up to snuff if you want to be the champion.

Speaking of which, there are three new starter Pokemon to choose from in the traditional three beginning types. Grookey is the grass chimp Pokemon, then there is the fire rabbit Pokemon Scorbunny, and lastly the water lizard Pokemon Sobble. Of course, they’ll be plenty of new and old Pokemon to catch on your adventure in Galar.

Even for a Direct, details are still pretty scarce about Pokemon Sword and Shield. We got a quick look at some of the areas in the region but not much concerning gameplay details. Things do not appear to change much as we see a trainer going into battle by walking in the tall grass, departing from the encounters in Let’s Go Eevee and Pikachu. Surely there will be plenty more to share leading up to the launch of Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield.

February is almost over and as a bigger bonus, we have both the Games With Gold and PlayStation Plus lineup for March. Good news for gamers, both lineups seem pretty solid.

Starting with PlayStation Plus we have Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered and The Witness. COD: MW really needs no introduction and if you have not played this title before this is the perfect opportunity to do so.

That is it with the PlayStation Plus lineup as February was the last month for PlayStation 3 and Vita titles to be featured in the lineup.

Going onto Games With Gold we have Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion for the entire month of May on the Xbox One. March 16th is when you can grab Plants Vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2 for free on the Xbox One.

For the Xbox 360 we have the squad-based Star Wars Republic Commando from the original Xbox that will be available March 1st through the 15th. Then starting on the 16th we have Metal Gear Rising: Revengence as a free title for the rest of the month.

No objection here

Capcom is showing Phoenix Wright some love by bringing a trilogy of games to the west in April. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney trilogy brings the first three titles (Ace Attorney, Justice For All, Trials and Tribulations) in one HD package for consoles and PC. Be sure you’re ready to take the case when the trilogy launches on April 9th.

Support is strong with this one

Not making any bones about what is or is not coming after launch, Ubisoft has released a trailer showcasing what players can expect in the first year after the release of Tom Clancy’s The Division 2. The first piece drops not too long after launch with Tidal Basin, a faction stronghold controlled by the Black Tusk. Coming up after that will be Operation Dark Hours which will be the first eight player raid in the series’ short history.

Three new episodes containing more story missions, additional content, and specializations are coming as well. The first is expected to hit in the Summer of this year followed by two more episodes coming in Autumn and Winter respectively. Ubisoft states that the third episode will “close the first chapter” of The Division 2, meaning we’re probably going to see a lot more for this title in 2020.

A Year One pass will be sold that gives owners 7 days early access to all narrative content, instant access to the additional specializations as they release, eight classified operations revealing more about what happened to D.C., Base of Operations projects, additional bounties, and unique customization items. These extra goodies might make buying the Year One Pass worth it for some but don’t worry if you’re not forking out extra cash as the additional episodes and modes are free. The Year One Pass just packs in a few extra goodies but everyone is getting the same major additional content.

Ubisoft is getting ahead of the curve and detailing what players can expect before The Division 2 has even launched yet. Clearly they have been taking notes from the first title’s release.

Call me a sinner

Just in case you need more open world goodness for your Switch, Saints Row: The Third - The Full Package will launch on May 10th.

How much are those sunglasses?

Mortal Kombat is known for its blood and gore but also some of its humor as well. No one embodies the two more than Johnny Cage who is returning for Mortal Kombat 11.

This isn’t entirely surprising as MK X featured him as a pretty significant role in the game’s story. He’s pretty damn funny as well. The reveal trailer for Johnny Cage shows a few new moves and of course his wise cracking antics. Be sure to watch until the end for his fatality
