Become an Xbox Insider, basic mod support comes to Fallout 4 on Playstation 4, controller support for XCOM 2 on PC, Trackmania Turbo VR demo, and this week's game releases!

Go on the inside

For a while, Xbox has taken feedback from players enrolled in the Xbox Preview Program.  Those in this program were able to try new updates to the system before being rolled out to the public.  Major Nelson announced today an official name change coming to the program now dubbed the Xbox Insider Program.  In addition to the new name, the Xbox Insider Program will be available to everyone.  Open enrollment will be coming soon, with those currently enrolled in the Xbox Preview Program being transferred over to the Xbox Insider Program first.

Perhaps the big difference here is that those already enrolled will be the only one's testing system updates.  Joining the Xbox Insider Program will allow the chance to try games, apps, and other features but system updates will not be one of those.  You can view more details of what is new and what is being changed by checking the blog here.

Coming soon

Bethesda has announced that the next Fallout 4 update on the PlayStation 4 will include mod support.  Please note that these mods are only limited to internal game assets, with no chance for any crazy Macho Man mods on your PS4.  Bethesda expects the update to hit sometime this month.

Controller friendly

Even on PC you might prefer using a controller rather than keyboard and mouse.  Having just come to the console recently, a new update has hit the PC version of XCOM 2 that adds controller support.  Native support for both Xbox 360 and Xbox One controllers are included.  The blog post states that "Alternate controller options may require additional user adjustments", which means you likely can use a PS4 controller but it might not be as easy as plugging in a Xbox controller.

Try not to get sick

Trackmania Turbo has received an update that adds VR support on the PlayStation 4 and PC versions of the game.  If you are skeptical of the experience, a free four-track demo is available on both the PC and PlayStation VR.
