The news came out today that the original Borderlands and all of its DLC will be playable on the backwards compatibility service when it launches this November. Your saves and achievements will carry over as well. While not the "HD" treatment that the sequel got, getting the original Borderlands on Xbox One in some capacity is still a nice bonus.
