Rockstar has some news today for Grand Theft Auto V, both good and bad. The good news is that heists will be officially coming to GTA Online on March 10th. Heists will be available for both next gen and last gen versions of the game including PC. But this is where I'm afraid I've got some bad news. The PC version has been delayed yet again to April 14th. As an apology from Rockstar, anyone who has pre-ordered the game on PC will get an additional $200,000 in-game currency. While the gesture of more in-game cash is nice, at some point players are going to run out of patience. Hopefully this will be the last delay for the PC release of Grand Theft Auto V.
Microsoft has a nice little sale for this week's Deal's With Gold on Xbox platforms. You can find discounts on Thief, Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag, and Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition for Xbox One. Three games from the Assassin's Creed series, Sleeping Dogs, and Thief are among the games discounted for Xbox 360. You can see the full list of games on Major Nelson's blog.
Street Fighter fans are likely buzzing over a double dose of news regarding Street Fighter V. Charlie Nash has now been confirmed and received his own reveal trailer showcasing some of his new moves. The other bit of cool news is that Street Fighter V will receive an online beta for both PS4 and PC. No word when the beta will happen but details will be coming in the future.
A brand new update for Plants vs Zombies 2 is available today. With 16 new levels and more new zombies, it should keep fans going for a little while longer.
More Disney games are now available on Steam, a total of 12 to be exact. Games can be bought individually or you can get a few bundled together. For example, you can purchase the Disney Games Cars Classics pack featuring three games based off the movie Cars. To celebrate, previously released Disney games on Steam are discounted at 50% off.
Telltale Games is looking to push the medium between TV and video games. Film company Lionsgate has taken an investment into Telltale with plans to produce original content based on Telltale's new "Super Show" model. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Telltale Games CEO Kevin Bruner described the "super show" as not an interactive series with a show, or a TV show with a game. A quote from Bruner reads:
"A “Super Show” episode combines one part of interactive playable content with one part of scripted television style content. Both pieces, when combined together, are what make an actual Super Show “episode.” As we’ve been developing the series, we’re using both mediums in concert to deliver our story."
In an effort to help with this and current projects, two new members were added to Telltale's Board of Directors. Former EA CEO and current CEO of Unity Technologies John Riccitiello along with Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer have been elected to the board. With these moves, its clear Telltale is looking to make its nitch in both the game and entertainment industry.
