YouTube is making a stand to help protect users from copyright infringements that might hinder on "fair use". If you are unaware of the meaning, fair use is a legal doctrine that says you can reuse copyright-protected material under certain circumstances without getting permission from the copyright owner. These can include things like criticism and news reports. Borrowing small bits of copyrighted work can also be considered fair use. Take the video below for example of what YouTube considers fair use.
With this in mind, that does not mean you can give credit to the copyright owner to count as fair use. Posting disclaimers does not automatically protect you from copyright infringement either. What YouTube is offering is legal support for videos that they believe clear fair use which have been subject to DMCA takedowns. This legal support includes representing in court if necessary, up to one million dollars in legal fees. While YouTube isn't promising every video will be protected, they will continue to monitor and resist legally unsupported DMCA takedowns. This is certainly to get a positive response from the community, knowing that false copyright takedowns will be less likely to happen now. Please note that this only applies to users in the United States.
Maybe its Telltale getting their act together, or the mammoth that is Minecraft, but episode three of Minecraft: Story Mode is releasing next Tuesday on the 24th. While we've had to wait months for series such as Tales From the Borderlands and The Wolf Among us for the third episode, Minecraft is getting theirs very shortly.
Due to high demand, Microsoft is resupplying the Armed Forces themed Xbox One controllers. The camouflage and military design make this controller stand out from the normal black Xbox One controllers.
