Revealed (via Gamespot) today is a new game in the Civilization: Beyond Earth universe; Sid Meir's Starships. This new, turn-based game will be arriving early this year for PC, Mac, and iPad. Controlling a fleet of starships, you will be tasked with protecting planets, completing missions, and building a planetary federation. Along your journey you will collect futuristic technology and of course take place in turn-based battles. Missions will have their own maps, with dynamically generated tactical combat. Perhaps with it taking place in the Civilization: Beyond Earth universe, it will feature some cross-game implementation?
The NASCAR license has a new owner in DMi inc. Taking over the license effective January 1st of this year, a post by DMi President Ed Martin reveals a new simulation based racing game is in development. The game will not see a release this year, but instead will come to us in 2016. However, there will still be a NASCAR game released this year. As part of the deal that was made, DMi acquired certain NASCAR-related assets, including cars and tracks from previous licensee Eutechnyx. Eutrechnyx had also been working on an update to their last game released NASCAR 14. Instead of a full fledged game, it was an update for the 2015 season to the existing game all while fixing some bugs as well. The season update game will be released this spring digital only for Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. While not a full new game, at least NASCAR fans will get another racing title for this year.
