Thanks to a translation from Siliconera, Nintendo announced on its Japanese website that they are discontinuing the Nintendo 3DS XL. It is listed as "production ending soon", but no official date when production will cease on these models. With the New Nintendo 3DS XL being the best selling 3DS model since its October release, this decision should not come as a surprise.
