For PS4 racer DriveClub, the launch of the game has been anything but smooth. Trying to connect to servers on day one was a really big issue that was only recently fixed, while the free Playstation Plus version of the game was nowhere to be found. Unfortunately, for those waiting for the Playsation Plus version, today was not good news. In a post on the game's Facebook page, it has been announced that the Playsation Plus version has been postponed until further notice. DriveClub has been down quite a rocky road in the past year. After being announced as a launch title, it was delayed very close to the one-year mark of the PS4 release. Let's hope that the developers get this game back on track.
A double dose of Steam news for today. First off, NBA 2K15 will be free to try until November 3rd. Players will be able to experience the full game until the free time period ends. Secondly, to celebrate the coming holiday, Steam is having a Halloween sale. The games featured are more or less centered around zombies and horror themes, including The Walking Dead, Sanitarium, Dead Space, and many more! The Steam Halloween Sale sale will end on November 3rd, at 10 AM Pacific.
Xbox Live Gold members will get a little blast from the past with November's Games With Gold program. Starting on November 1st and ending on the 15th, players will be able to download Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise for Xbox 360. Also available on Xbox 360 starting on the 16th will be Red Faction: Guerrila. Available all month, Xbox One players will be able to enjoy Volgarr the Viking. Please note that Volgarr the Viking is not available in all regions. If you are a gamer in Germany, Russia, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand or Brazil, a full version of Powerstar Golf will be in place of Volgarr the Viking.
A couple of game announcements:
Valkyria Chronicles will be making it's way to PC on November 11th. Available for pre-order on Steam (at a 10% discount as well), the PC version will feature all DLC that was previously released for the PS3 version.
Coming to PC (via Steam), PS4, PS3, and Xbox One on January 30th will be Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires. For those not familiar, the Dynasty Warriors Empire games feature the hack-and-slash style the main series is known for, but with some tactical and strategic elements thrown in. Players take part in choosing what battles to enter, manage generals, and watch over the economy.
Available now on iTunes and Google Play is Star Wars: Galactic Defense. Players choose from either Light or Dark side, while taking part in a tower defense game. Many recognizable characters are available as "champions", and the game features over 100 different battle scenarios.
Coming to the PS4 next year will be card-based tactic game Ironclad Tactics. The game is set in an alternative history during the Civil War featuring steam powered robots! Players will be able to collect cards, level them up, and create their own decks as they make their way through the campaign; which can also be played through online co-op. The PS4 version will include all of the previously released add-on campaigns (on PC). No set date has been announced other than early 2015. The Steam version of Ironclad Tactics is $15, so the price on the PS4 version should be expected to be the same.
